What:
Low-key, grass-roots, relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy some summer running and challenge yourself in a different way. Explore the varied terrain you'll find in cross country and trail running, including rocky dirt trails, grass and some sidewalk. Timing clock, results posted shortly thereafter. Top 3 in each 10 year age group will be recognized after race, so stick around for a bit.
Who:
Anyone interested in the sport of running. Youth, middle school, high school, college, running groups, marathoners, road runners, track athletes. No walkers, strollers or dogs on the course, please. Please do not enter if you don't take hydration seriously.
When:
Saturdays from May-August, 6:15 AM start time.
Pick up numbers 5:30-6:00 AM. Check-in at start line 10 minutes prior to race for any last-minute instructions. 3k race starts at precisely 6:15 AM.
Where:
Desert Foothills Park in Ahwatukee. Limited parking in parking lot. May park along street along Marketplace Way, on the west side of the park if lot is full. Official address is 1010 Marketplace Way SW, Phoenix, AZ 85048
*Cost:
On-time registration of $20 closes the Sunday prior to the race, or once race has reached capacity. Late registration fees are $25 from the Monday prior to the race through Thursday, two days before the race, with a deadline of noon.
Registration:
THERE IS NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION at the race. Limited to the first 70 people in each of the races.
Bathroom Facilities:
The park itself has limited facilities, which are sometimes open early in the morning and sometimes not. Please plan accordingly. The closest business is McDonalds, which borders the park to the northeast. Across the street is a Safeway.
